Canada has banned the manufacture and import of single-use plastics at the end of 2022. The government had started rolling out its ban on single-use plastic bags, straws, cutlery, take-out containers, stir sticks, and ring carriers.
In 2021, Canada officially designated plastic manufactured items as toxic substances under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act.
